Dr. Pía Vidal obtained her Bioengineering degree at the University of Concepcion in Chile. Her passion for Neuroscience research took her to complete her PhD at the University of Hasselt in Belgium. Her research focused on the role of the pro- and anti- inflammatory cytokines (TNF-alpha and IL-13), as well as the metalloproteinase ADAM17, as modulators of the immune response in a thoracic spinal cord injury model. During this period, she also performed collaborative research in the field of brain development.
Currently, she is a postdoctoral fellow studying the contribution of the inflammatory response after cervical spondylotic myelopathy.
