Stuart is a dynamic and highly motivated neuroscientist with well developed personal transferable skills. He is a confident team leader and member able to work with diverse groups of people to achieve a common goal. Completing his Doctorate in Cardiff, Wales and post doctorate at University College London he has over 10 years experience in biological and neurological imaging, translational models of brain injury and overall laboratory, project and personnel management from undergraduate up to senior clinicians. Stuart has experience of technical consultancy with medical industry and clinical equipment design, education and knowledge translation.
In Michael Fehlings laboratory he is currently researching stem cell based strategies for treatment of cerebral palsy and developing MR based translational biomarkers of myelination and cell tracking in several preclinical models.
Outside of the lab Stuart follows many outdoor pursuits including hiking, cycling and triathlon. He is volunteer coach, environmentalist and regular volunteer ambassador for the 2015 PanAm games.
